Pray | Prayer Page

Pray

Inviting you to pray with us.  Introducing our Prayer Page.  In the practice of applied faith in the almighty God, the LORD provides mankind with many tools in a spiritual toolbox that we can learn to yield.  One of these tools is prayer.  It is not my intention to limit the scope of prayer to the size of a wrench in a small toolbox.  Remind you that the size of a mustard seed can move mountains (Mt 17:20) This article is a brief examination in the subject of prayer and an announcement of our church's daily & weekly practice.

Prayer is of highest priority in view of the full armor of God described by Paul in Ephesians 6:10-20.  Prayer is the most important offensive weapon we have available to us today as Christians.  With the help of a search engine using the Blue Letter Bible the word "pray" is listed 94 times in the ESV.  Remind you God's people haven't always had the canonized Word of God literature available.  Today some of God's people don't have a Bible in hand, but they have prayer!  How do you pray?  How do others pray?  Jesus shares the truth in the sermon on the mount.  In the section about religious practices where he more or less teaches us how we ought to practice true religious devotions such as prayer, fasting and charitable giving.  In the section on prayer (Mt. 6:5-15, :25-34).  The Lord Jesus Christ provides us a prayer outline that can be very powerful and productive in the believer's prayer life.  It is rather easy to memorize, recite and meditate upon.

"Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. [10] Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. [11] Give us this day our daily bread, [12] and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. [13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [14] For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, [15] but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." ~Jesus Christ (Mt 6:9-15 ESV Cite 1)

If you're not convinced spend some time with Author Larry Lea.

"In the cold, black night of Christ's betrayal, His disciples could not tarry one hour with Him in prayer (Mt. 26:40) ...After Howard Conatser died in 1978 [Rev. Larry Lea] was called to be the pastor of his 3,000-member church...[Larry said, no to the man inviting him, but yes to the Highest Call, which caused him to return home to Kilgore]...In the great Azusa Street revival of the early 1900s, this altar invitation was given: "Everyone interested in pardon, sanctification, healing and the baptism in the Holy Spirit, rise and come."  The speaker was right on!  Jesus is our righteousness, sanctifier, peace, healer, provider, banner & shepherd, and He is the overflowing One present within us." ~Larry Lea (Cite 2)

We gather in person weekly as a church to pray.  At this time, we do this TOGETHER on Sunday's during our sabbath services and during our weekly study.  On Wednesday evenings we gather for an hour for some concentrated concerted effort in prayer.  In step with the theme of "ceaseless" prayer throughout the Bible, for remainder of our week, we pray without ceasing.  If anyone is curious, I'd love to explain via testimony how this is plausible (Eph. 1:16).

There are many examples of prayer throughout the Biblical library that illustrate the importance and progress that prayer provides to us as God's people.  Prayer drives forward the Kingdom of God here on earth as it is in heaven (Cite 3).

To further understand what I mean by driving "forward the Kingdom of God" may I encourage you to observe this book by Rick DuBose.

In the book In Jesus' Name author Rick Dubose describes 5 Altars of Prayer that move heaven and earth.  In my opinion God's people will benefit from learning about the Altars of Prayer shared by Rev. Rick Dubose.  I won't share them all with you here because I think it's important you hear this instruction from Pastor Rick yourself.  Can I share a teaser?  Personal Altar & Community Altar.  Listen to him above (Cite 3).

Personally, I have benefitted from Ps. Rick's experience and lead as assistant general superintendent of the Assemblies of God and a member of the executive leadership team.  In the practice of prayer in my own daily walk with the Living God I have much to share yet I leave you with this.  As practitioners we know that our prayers don't always equate to the results, we sometimes desire.  Yet we should ALL strive to practice, make permanent and perfect prayer, nonetheless.  The results of our prayers won't always seem to appear to manifest earth shaking, signs, wonders and miracles because this is part of God's mysterious character and sovereignty.  God is God and we are his creation.  God doesn't always grant privileges to observe his movements, the example of Job is excellent in this regard.  Job was faithful even in the suffering and was later rewarded for his obedience.

Perhaps the most important result of a devoted prayer life is that we are making God priority number one! Perhaps second to this is being known by God and we come to really know God as He is not as we would like God to be.  Knowing you ARE loved by the Creator & the Creator knowing that you really love Him (YHWH) more than anything else in creation.

As His local church, lets unite in one mind (2Co 13:11more often than not!  To prepare to join us at the community altar I've launched a Prayer Page on this church Blog to assist you and encourage you to join us.  Click this link here to go there now: Hyperlink to "Dove Creek AG Prayer Page."

Alone with God we can move mountains.  Together let us move mountain ranges!

As a Shepherd, I pledge to you that I remain always ready to pray with you on campus and out & about.  As the Pastor I'm prayerful to see you at the community altar on campus and throughout the western slope community!

May God's mercy & grace continue to prevail in the face of adversity here on earth as it is in heaven!

Earnestly,

Rev. Nicholas

We care about your victory!

Monthly Men's Ministry in the Word

Men's Assembly Dove Creek Assembly of God

Prayer Breakfast & Ministry in the Word

We meet the first Saturday of the month at 6:00a to 8:00a 1230p to 230p.  Recommended fasting & prayer the day and/or night before. Sun down Thursday to Saturday at 8am could amount to 36 hour fast.  My recommendation is 12-40 hours of fasting prayer before we meet.

This year's plan is a journey through the following Psalms:  1; 23; 24; 34; 37; 84; 91; 103; 119; 121; 139; and 150.  We'll call it Hiking the Psalms!
These are often referred to as many people's "favorite chapters" of this book of Wisdom & Poetry.

We'll have small devotional Bible excursions along the way to examine 3 special features unique to this book:  The longest chapter in the Bible (119); the shortest chapter in the Bible (117:1-2); and the middle verse of all 66 books in the codified Christian Bible (118:8).

Each month in the midst of every detail in your personal & professional schedule. Make time to familiarize yourself with each listed chapter in advance of meeting in person on our DCAG Campus.

If prepared to minister in the listed word of the month, let me know and I'll let you have the floor for some of our time together.  Let me implore other men to Step-up and share!

"Masculinity is not something given to you, but something you gain.  And you gain it by winning small battles with honor" ~Norman Mailer, Cannibals and Christians (1966)

David was a "man after [God's] own heart" and in my opinion he hasn't stopped seeking men & woman after His own heart.

1 Samuel 13:14 NLT — But now your kingdom must end, for the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart. The LORD has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD’s command.”

At David's death bed Solomon received final instructions from his dad:

1 Kings 2:2 NLT — “I am going where everyone on earth must someday go. Take courage and be a man.

1 Kings 2:2 KJV — I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;

1 Kings 2:2 NKJV — “I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man.

"Be strong & show yourself a man" ~King David

Let's build up strength in the Lord privately and rally together privately at the community altar to build up a public ministry for men in our region.  Some very big things start small.  Let's go!

Godly masculinity isn't dead!

Earnestly,

Roots Newsletter | Issue 1

Welcome to the inaugural newsletter of Dove Creek Assembly of God.  Issue 1 '24

In 2023 the board of our church formed a Pastorate Search Committee to find a new lead Pastor and prevent the closure of our local church.  The search committee was Chairman Rev. Gene Roncone the Rocky Mountain Ministry Network (RMMN) Superintendent, the RMMN Secretary/Treasurer Rev. Jon Bryant and our Advisory Committee:  Interim Pastor Rev. Bill Beagley, Claudean Jones, Jason Hall & Dagan Chadd.  Without their steadfast diligence and devotion to the Lord's will this church may have been closed.  Fortunately the Holy Spirit showed out and these faithful vessels paid the price finding & hiring our current leading Pastor Rev. Nicholas Sybrowsky in August '23.

Pastor Bill & Pastor Nicholas shared the pulpit on Labor Day weekend Passing the Torch and turning over roles & responsibilities officially in September '23.  The transition period now behind us was painstakingly travailed with many objectives accomplished and more work to be continued.  Falling Leaves was issued announcing initial points of priority and the first 300 days "Run Deep Roots" was later issued helping us navigate the difficult transition together.

What's Next?  The next 300 days is briefly outlined here in this inaugural church newsletter:  Root's!

September 1—June 27, 2025

Roots that run deep have the ability to grow and prosper others.  Psalm 1 roots are the kind of roots the Lord wants us to have (That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither--whatever they do prospers. Psalms 1:3 NIV).  The combat boots are off and we keep the Good News of Peace attached to our feet.  We are here for the long haul with you as leaders within the local church & community.  Hearing the direction of God is what's most critical in the length and depth of our roots here in Dove Creek.  We are committed indefinitely, but the Lord may announce a different plan along the way (Proverbs 16:9 NIV).  We aim to always be sensitive to the Lord's directing, He is the head of our house & our home congregation.

Pave Parking Lot

In the last year we finished the fence build and installed a patio deck at the parsonage, trimmed trees, shrubs, grasses and increased nutrients in the landscape.  Now it’s time to improve our guest parking space with a chip n seal pour.  Additionally, get some organized lines painted to promote safety.

Publish Seminary Scholarship

This project area is for the next generation of ministry leaders.  We intend to further define the program expectations and budget allotment, then publish this special opportunity to the western slope region.  We intend to sponsor students to develop personal theology and attend local church-based seminary for one year.  In one year, they will acquire Certificate of Biblical Studies.  This will equip them to strengthen their personal ministry and empower eligibility to credential with the Assemblies of God should they desire to be credential holders.  The budget will also empower single augment classes for church members.

Refresh & Refine Vision as a Church

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (Proverb 29:18 KJV).  Affiliated as a local church in the Assemblies of God, we share the same vision as other churches in our district.  I affirm & believe God has called the church to a four-fold purpose:

  1. Provide space to worship God together in spirit & truth,
  2. Reach & help the spiritually lost be saved,
  3. Disciple the found to develop maturity &
  4. Demonstrate His love & compassion for people and helping those in need.

Our mission, vision and values are “Thy Kingdom Come, Go Dove Creek” Each local body is unique for an unlisted number of reasons.  What is unique about us here at First Assembly of God Dove Creek, Colorado?  What is our distinct brand?  What sets us apart from the others?

Establish a budget for vision “Go”.  Rally a committee to promote refreshment and refinement of our board team’s Worldview, Mission, Vision Values and goals.  With inputs from the committee we can gain stimulus of strategic creative imagination in the church staff.

Upgrade Media Center

In the first 300 days we purchased a new head set & receiver for public speakers, some mic covers and installed some smart tv monitors. Our current computer is functional, but not as effective as we anticipate an upgrade will be. We intend to integrate a stronger computing system and software to promote increased media center effectiveness for the overhead projector, smart monitors and live streaming capability. Main upgrades to include: Computer system and software support, camera and sound recording to support live streaming (potential streaming software investment), Media Shout training, potential upgrade or change. Bundle projector and smart monitors to support practical plug and play. Alignment of music stream and musicians without “can music effect”.

Build & Publish New Members-Handbook

The most valuable result of evangelization of the world is that everyone is given the opportunity to clearly understand who Jesus is and then make a deliberate choice to accept, believe & confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.  You don't need to be a member of the local church to accept Jesus as described, but if you want to follow Jesus and mature as a Christian it helps to be a member of the local church to engage in the Great Commission.  Jesus never intended for us to execute the commission without being part of the body of Christ, which is the church.  Battle buddies, life groups, net groups and teamwork all make the evangelization of the world possible.  It takes interdependent commitment to fulfill the 4-fold purpose of the Church (Lk 10:1, Mk 6:7, Mt 9:37, Jn 9:35, Ecc 4:12).  We are better & stronger together!  Anyone can attend our public meetings.  To engage in many aspects of our ministries (Heb. 10:25) and do more than consume the Gospel.  Membership is crucial to be successful in the great commission.  Let's build up a new members handbook to help us lead others into our church ministry and experience the byproduct of great fellowship and service that glorifies God.  Gospel production!  This guest services project will include development of 3 :30-minute tracks to membership application.

Build & Publish Memory Book

Another posterity project.  The church centennial isn't just around the bend, but let's prepare for the 2036 Centennial Celebration!  One project I think we can collaborate on is honoring the past, present and future of this church by building a memory book.  When we dive into our history, we get a valuable hindsight view of our past, which enhances our ability to springboard our long-term vison into plausible actions for today.  Join the committee team to help us build, set goals, track progress and stimulate a memory record.  Let's connect to our local heritage, honoring the past and future posterity with this 90th Birthday gift to posterity!

Summary

Thank you for listening to this vision the Lord Jesus Christ has led me to share with you as the Pastor of His local church here in Dove Creek, Colorado.  We aim to accomplish this and more, but most importantly propagate the Gospel of Jesus Christ harvesting souls for the One True God's eternal honor & glory.  Suit-up in the full armor of God.  Show-up to contribute to the mission.  Reaching, teaching, mending and sending to fulfill the great commission initiated by the LORD!

YouVersion Bible App | Smart Phone Notes

Do you use a smart phone?  If so, this entry is for you!  We're preparing events on the YouVersion Bible App.  Once you have the Application installed on your smart device you can easily find our events and use the application to follow along and take personal notes.  That shared if you like this 'smart' feature relative to our church service the Pastor needs to know.  No feedback equals no event on the app. 🤷

Find application detail at their website here:  YouVersion Bible App  Remember to come back for the instructions or simply learn through trial and error.  Or ask another user to help, Pastor Nick will help you too!

Here is a simple detailed guide to get you started.

  1. Install the free application on your device.
  2. Create a profile.  This is usually set up by default utilizing whichever account is associated with your device, i.e. Gmail or Yahoo mail, etc.
  3. Once you've installed the app. Click on the menu within the app.  Within there you should see an "Events" option.  Click on this.  You can permit location to be revealed to the app or manually search near you.
  4. If we have an event published in advance, you should be able to find it and save it 5 days in advance of the start time.  It's at the event in the app where you can take notes during the sermon, school and any other event.  These notes will be saved for you to access later at your convenience.  You won't be able to find old events without entering and saving during the event between 5 days of start and 30 minutes after.

Less detailed Guide:

  1. Get the App.
  2. Set up the App.
  3. Click on Events.
  4. Find Event you want to attend and save it.
  5. Take notes during the event or simply follow along.  Save for later.
This is a useful tool for notes taking anywhere churches publish events within the App.  Guests can easily access & follow along.  Please share feedback with each other and the Pastor of Dove Creek Assembly of God.  We're looking for help to prepare these events and publish in advance.  We also need to know if you're using this 'smart' feature to continue providing persistently.  To help &/or be helped with send us a message dovecreekassemblyofgod@gmail.com

Mission, Vision & Values

Mission:

Thy Kingdom Come

The perfect will of God.  Find it, follow it & fulfill the perfect will of God.  The Kingdom of God!

11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; ... 13 Thy kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion [endureth] throughout all generations.               ~ Psalms 145:11 & 13

6 Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom [is] a right sceptre. ~Psalms 45:6

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.         Matthew 6:10

2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. ~ Luke 11:2

42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. ~ Luke 23:42

8 But unto the Son [he saith], Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness [is] the sceptre of thy kingdom. ~ Hebrews 1:8

Vision:

Go

Know the mission & go.  When we know we go!  Once you know God you will be compelled to "Go". Reach, Teach, Mend & Send.  When we go we grow.  When we grow we send.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: ~ Mat 28:19

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. ~ Mar 16:15

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. ~ Luke 24:47 KJV

21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you. ~ John 20:21 KJV

Values:    D.O.V.E. CRE.EK.

  • Discipleship
  • Open space
  • Victorious Living
  • Empathy for Community
  • Christ's Resurrected
  • Eternal Kingdom

D. Discipleship

Make, Baptize & Teach.  Investing in others, training them in the Word, interdependence & service, so that they might mature (GROW) as healthy believers who can walk by faith, share their faith & multiply their faith.

19 Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: 20 teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. ~ Matthew 28:19-20 ASV

40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master. ~ Luke 6:40

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ~ John 8:31-32

"Disciple" comes from the Greek word that means, "to learn."  Historically, the word associates a pupil-teacher relationship.  Jesus modeled discipleship in His secret, private & public ministry.  Examining this we observe how his relationship with His disciples transcended the normal student-teacher affiliation.  He poured Himself into those who would propagate - intimately living with, teaching & investing quality time with them.  Then empowering disciples to proclaim the gospel & do good works.  Jesus literally put up His skin in public ministry for 12 young men & us.  Meekly equipping the saints so they could lead the multitudes.

O. Open-Space

We provide space to worship the LORD openly in truth & in spirit.

23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel [them] to come in, that my house may be filled. ~ Luke 14:23

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.                   ~ John 4:23-24

17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. ~ John 14:17

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. ~ John 16:13

We have space to banquet and prepare for the Great Banquet.  Join the bride for cooperate ministry, worship, praise, prayer & the Word.

V. Victorious Living

Imputed righteousness empowers us to live victoriously & empowers us to be holy.  Victor's not victim's!

19 For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one shall the many be made righteous.                 ~ Rom 5:19 ASV
8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?                                                ~ Mic 6:8 Cf. Isaiah 57:15 & Hosea 6:6

Seek justice, love mercy & walk humbly with God.  Deliberately overcoming victimhood with a victorious mindset; relying on the blood of Jesus Christ.  We declare & decree victory over any injustice that has occurred and any injustice that might occur to ourselves or others.  We whole heartedly believe we are forgiven our debts.  We cherish the substitutionary work upon the cross & proclaim Jesus Christ as LORD & savior.  This declaration, decree & proclamation compels us to deny ourselves daily, pick up our cross & follow Jesus' pro-active leadership.  Committed to help others become victorious too.  This value dove tails well into our next!

E. Empathy for community

We care!  We carry compassion within us because "He first loved us" (John 3:16) we love you!

Jesus wept. ~ John 11:35

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.  ~ Matthew 9:36

And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. ~ Matthew 14:14

Then Jesus called his disciples [unto him], and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.                       ~ Matthew 15:32

And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. ~ Luke 7:13

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. ~ Luke 15:20

Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:                      ~ 1Peter 3:8

But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?       ~ 1John 3:17

And of some have compassion, making a difference:                      ~ Jude 1:22

God empowers us to care for & love our neighbor.  Spiritual transformation of the community is God's compassion & glory.  In communion with God we are compelled to "commun-ity" together.

  • Pity:  I acknowledge your suffering.
  • Sympathy:  I care about your suffering.
  • Empathy:  I feel your suffering.
  • Compassion:  I want to relieve your suffering.

Everyone has their own "monkeys" to cope with therefore we certainly ought not adopt other peoples' monkeys, but relational catharsis is invaluable.  Sharing those monkeys yet not projecting them onto others.  Letting monkeys play together, if you will.  Some monkeys may even be eliminated through community by having compassion for one another.  Some folks need monkeys removed so they can stand upright again.  We all have monkeys!  We all need each other!  There is enough burdensome details for us ALL in this world, yet each one of us is called to "bear" with one another as Paul wrote in the epistle to the church in Galatia.  Compassion is key to fulfillment of God's perfect will.  Love God & Love others!

CRE. Christ's Resurrection

The crucified Nazarene died & resurrected three days later.

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.              ~ Mark 16:6

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. ~ Mark 16:14

And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. ~ Mark 14:62

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. ~ Mark 16:19

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession. ~ Hebrews 4:14

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. ~ Hebrews 7:25

Jesus Christ is seated at the right-hand of the Father and is pro-actively interceding on our behalf.  Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

EK. Eternal Kingdom

We are eternal in perspective, purpose & power.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. ~ Isaiah 9:6

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.                                         ~ Ephesians 3:10-12

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;           ~ Ephesians 3:16

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,      ~ Ephesians 3:20

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].         ~ Ephesians 6:12

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him [are] called, and chosen, and faithful.        ~ Revelation 17:14
And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. ~ Revelation 19:16

We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.  He is the Alpha & Omega!  Greek adage translation:  The beginning & the end.  He always existed before creation, at immaculate conception & after the crucifixion.  Yesterday, today & tomorrowOur blessed hope! Everlasting King of kings!

Leadership Team Installation

Teamwork Lessons from Geese

Installation ceremony for Dove Creek Assembly of God leadership team.

September last year is only a few months ago, but this confirmation has been a long time coming.  Personally, I’m very pleased to announce and endorse the following leadership roles for the coming year.  As the Pastor, I implore the church to prayerfully consecrate the following Armorbearers for the interim leadership roles of our church in the following areas of assistance to me as I direct ministry operations.

Pray, Pray Pray!  When life is good, PRAY.  When life is hard, PRAY.  Never forget to PRAY.  Amen.

Church please pray for the consecration of our Leadership Team

Our Church Leadership Team:

  • Church advisory board:  Claudean Jones, Jason Hall & Dagan Chadd
  • Compassion’s Ministry Leader:  Kristy Chadd
  • Pastor’s Secretary:  Kevin Hall
  • Children’s Ministry Leader:  Carole Hall
  • Worship Team Leader:  Teresa Arthur
  • Boys & Girls Missions Challenge (BGMC) Program Manager:  Crystal Hall
  • Puppet Ministry Program Manager:  Andrew Hall

Each of these roles & the responsibilities that come with them have been carefully examined, defined and consecrated to support the church direction in our operations.  For the size of our congregation and length of our time together these roles, to me, seem to be a good fit for the interim coming year.

Please help me to lead better as we adjust to this renewed direction together!  Let us remain flexible, durable & resilient as God reveals his plan along 'the way'.

Earnestly,

Pastor Nicholas

Bible-In-a-Year Schedule '24

Sow to yourselves righteousness, reap mercy, break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until He comes and rains righteousness upon you.  ~Hosea 10:12  MEV

The Entire Bible-in-a-Year Reading Schedule

2024 January—June

Thy Kingdom Come, Go DOVE CREEK

Download the reading schedule and print from home; watch out for page three.  Page 3 is unfinished for the July-December period.  Schedule for six months listed below too.

Our Word for the year is:  Till.  Word of the Month (WOM): Each month has an associated four letter word theme:  Jan--Pray, Feb--Give, Mar--Wait, Apr--Lord, May--Stay & Jun--Play.

Corporate Reading Schedule From Fire Bible Modern English Version

This reading plan gives you a structured pattern for reading through the entire Bible in one year.

There are two readings for each day, one in the Old Testament (OT), the other in the New Testament (NT).

If you feel bogged down by so much reading each day, an alternative plan is to read the OT passages the first year & the NT passages the second year, completing the entire Bible in two years rather than one year.

According to the Art & Science of Reading the Bible—First Rate Reader’s Examine Scripture:

·         Acquisitively

·         Repeatedly

·         Telescopically

·         Selectively

·         Thoughtfully

·         Imaginatively

·         Meditatively

·         Prayerfully

·         Patiently

·         Purposely

You made it!  We made it!  Reading the entire 66 books within the Bible binding is quite an accomplishment.  Remind you what Jesus taught in the first Beatitude,

"Blessed are the 'poor in spirit' for they shall inherit the Kingdom of God". ~Jesus in Sermon on the Mount

The original text indicates that "blessed" and "poor in the Spirit" means "Oh how happy are the humble".  I recall the first time I had finished my Bible in a year reading schedule.

It happened to be a schedule encouraged by my Pastor at Red Hill, Hawaii First Assembly of God.  Pastor Ko and his team produced a cooperate reading schedule and I managed to check all of the boxes throughout the year.  In my celebration I sensed the Lord convicting me to keep going and this remark kept me humble and thirsty for more understanding.

"I have read the entire Bible and it was more than a daily check in the box.  It was only one time in the English Standard Version of translation."

Which means there is more to observe and learn as a student of the Bible.  Additionally there is more because I know that there were days when all I did was simply trust and obey but not with personal understanding of what I was reading.  Learning to trust in the Lord and build trust takes obedience and deliberate commitment. For me not only did I read it in one year, I had great help from the church and from the Spirit of the One True God.  To this day I deliberately sustain this very important aspect of Christian life, daily devotional reading in the Word. A personal discipline I will never surrender.

To understand the immutability of God and build a variety of confidences in the Creator we must read!  I've come to believe that the only constant we can truly trust in this life on earth is found in the character of the God from within the Bible.  It's critical to learn to read.  It's critical to learn to observe, interpret and apply the Word of God.  How can we hear God if we don't know the Word?  How can we "work out our own salvation" (Phil 2:12) or what we believe, with a worldview that only comes from the point of view of another persons theology?  Each of us has a responsibility to study God and become theologians above reproach.  Lest we be miss led by the prophesied false teachers that are wolves in sheep's clothing.

Everyone is a theologian.  Whether you accept this or not, each of us by the very nature of being human, studies the Creator. The main question I have for you as we close out this year and begin a new one, assuming the Lord tarries.  Considering your short lifespan on earth, what kind of theologian will the Lord judge you to have been?

My friend, stay hungry and thirsty for righteousness, for then you shall be filled!

        Earnestly,

        Ps. Nicholas

        Student of the Bible
