A Brief Reflection
There are moments in a pastor’s life when the Spirit invites a deliberate pause — not an ending, but a refit. A season to step back, examine what has been carried, and allow God to strengthen what has grown thin. I’ve come to recognize that this is such a season for me.
“Retrograde Refit” is the language I’ve used to describe this transition: a purposeful withdrawal for renewal, clarity, and restoration. It’s less about stepping away and more about continuing to step into the slow, faithful work God is doing beneath the surface.
For those who want to read the fuller reflection behind this transition, it is now available at Sea Story: Retrograde Refit: Dry Docking for Renewal.
May this season lead all of us toward deeper trust, gentler rhythms, and the quiet courage to follow where God leads.
Grace and peace.
