Posterity
![]() |
The generational range and scope of our social climate is as vast as the stars in the universe. Far and wide from Children to Senior Adults the cohabitation of such broad social diversity is essential to legacy and lasting peace. Are you leading the next generation into blessing or curse?
Generation Comparison (1901-2024)
The Word indicates that with each generation we individually have a choice to accept the route of obedience or rebellion. Each choice is rewarded by consequence, if you will. Our choices have consequences. Like the result or not you can do something about it. The illustration used within scripture is quite an expanse between loving God or hating God. Scripture declares that sin causes separation or a chasm away from God.
Curse. Visiting the iniquity to the third and fourth generation ("visiting third").
Blessing. 1,000 generations.
I'm not an expert on generational studies but I'm certain there is an art & science to the habits and heritage of stewarding posterity. There is very much to observe here. Social studies will enhance our view of this hence it's one of the essential ingredients to elementary education and beyond.
For a homily covering such a topic click here but come on back from this relevant rabbit hole He Deliver's Hope 1.3 | Charged (LIVE 5/26/24) Otherwise, if you've come this far thanks for letting me share some thoughts with you about posterity.
I have great desire to launch ministry operations here on our campus and to engage in mentoring the next generation. In fact, I am available by appointment. This topic is very important to me despite our small footprint attempt of Fireside Fridays with young adults, sponsoring Fellowship of Christian Athletes as a church and Kid's Ministry on Sundays between 9-10am
Children
Parents, Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Teach & train them.
The idea that "It takes a village to raise a child" doesn't invite parents to dodge the primary role charged to them as parents. It means that without community children will miss out on many lessons that come from community. It also means we are here to help support you but not replace you. Also let us NOT forget the orphans who need spiritual parents to manifest physical substitution and support. It takes a special person(s) to adopt. My grandfather Earl was adopted by some generous Sybrowsky family members whom I personally don't know. Grateful am I for their support in helping to raise my grandpa.
Youth & Young Adults
When does adolescence start and end? There are many opinions about this, but many experts from "Healthy Children dot ORG" agree that this is unique for everyone. In fact, these are the stages that they use to describe this delicate area of personal development.
Stages of Adolescence:
- Early Adolescence (Ages 10-13)
- Middle Adolescence (Ages 14-17)
- Late Adolescence (Ages 18-21...and beyond)
~ Dr. Allen & Waterman (Cite 2)
Whenever you get into the subject of psychology you may discover that some rates of maturity in personal development are stunted, plateaued, climbing or even degenerative. I am no psychologist, but I've heard them refer to this as "arrested development" (go figure) in some cases of reality. It prompts me to think that's why Allen & Waterman write "...and beyond"😏
Male & Female
What does it mean to be a Man? What does it mean to be a Woman? These gender lines and the identity within being Male and Female have been very popular throughout history. The identity dysphoria that is being addressed in the 21st century has been forced into a main steam agenda socially and caused the subject to become very popular in society. The purpose of this article is NOT to choose a side between the ongoing social change activist organizations.
As a Pastor I'm apolitical yet, you will witness me stand on the Word of God. Wherever the degree of temperature that governing leaders lean if it happens to be in alignment to Biblical morality; that's where I aim to be ethically 🞋, the Bible is my "bullseye". That shared I understand that sometimes the truth of God can carry with it a sense of pain and hurt. Standing up for the oppressed is normal for the walk of any follower of Jesus Christ. He did this in the context of his own public ministry; hence Christian's find themselves involved in such compassion ministries relevant to deliverance and care. In the spirit of care and compassion for any enslaved, oppressed or suffering person it is important to listen to the Eunuch and permit them a sense of personhood (adulthood).
For more information about this very volatile subject visit the following position papers reflecting our churches shared perspective. God loves them and because of this love there shall not be any hatred toward the LGBTQ Community. Hate the sin not the Sinner. I don't mean to suggest that the obvious sin within said community isn't reconcilable or capable of being redeemed by the blood of Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17–21 See AG Position Paper II "Reconcilable"). To be clear I'm not suggesting that a Eunuch is sinning either (See AG Position Paper III C). Sin is sin. The Word of God declares homosexual conduct to be of a sexually immoral type of activity ("gave them up"; Christ Has Set Us Free).
The Word of God judges us and invites us to make changes in order to align our sense of morality with God's word of absolute morality instead of us judging the Word and impressing (causing the "gave them up" or hardening of heart) our own desires upon the word. This invites you to examine hermeneutics. How to properly interpret the Bible.
In most of your research you will find that "eunuch" is primarily of the male strand and female isn't such a thing. For the sake of distinguishing the line between the two I will use the term female eunuch and male eunuch. Otherwise, when using the term "eunuch" this a reference to the subject of lacking the ability to procreate without complex support of scientists.
Mentorship & Proteges
How do we select helpful mentors to lead us? According to R. Michael Oney, Ph.D. with Sharon Oney in their book "Mentoring that Leaves a Legacy"
- Great mentors have a steadfast, clearly defined faith.
- Great mentors show patience with people.
- Great mentors have walked through many persecutions & have scars to prove it.
- Great mentors have credibility that can be emulated. (Cite 1)
"Ministerial burnout is an ongoing problem, and one of the greatest safeguards for you, your church, and ministry is to develop faithful men & women who will join you in making disciples. This mentoring book by Dr. Mike Oney gives you seven very practical tools to help you develop your team, who will join you in fulfilling God's call upon your life. This is an excellent book to help you train your leaders, who will train others also!" ~Dr. George Wood
We are fortunate to have access to a few mentor epistles from the Apostle Paul and we all benefit from becoming familiar with the letters to the Mentor's Proteges:
- Timothy
- Titus
- Philemon

Lord willing and my flesh in submission I'll make time to share more in the subject of posterity. Thanks for letting me share.
May the Lord bless you and the unborn generations to come!
Earnestly,
